Who’s not a geek?

I am somewhat of a geek. I might as well admit it now since I have been one all off my life more or less and I can’t imagine that this is going to change anytime soon. Geekiness does not wear off easily, that’s for sure. Anyhow, that doesn’t matter much as I kind of enjoy being one. To me the word geek means and refers to someone who likes, no loves an activity or phenomenon very much. A successful musician like an ace songwriter, a singer or guitar hero guy or girl in a famous rock band actually needs to a major geek to get to be good enough to achieve any level of success in the first place. The same thing goes for sport jocks and even grand players in the business world. To have a burning passion for anything more or less means that you are a nerd. Still, for some reason people automatically think of a scrawny or morbidly obese (there are no in-betweens) guy with lot of pimples and horn-rimmed spectacles who spends his hunched over his computer or comic-book collection and chucking back Jolt colas with a vengeance. But that is as I already have explained not necessarily true, there are girl geeks, handsome geeks, old geeks and very successful geeks in face you have to be quite geekish to succeed in any field on a grand scale. But enough of this, I’m off to check out some auctions. I’m hell-bent on tracking down this ultra-rare alternative Batman comic where Bruce is fighting off a platoon of SS-soldiers on top of train heading for Czechoslovakia
